...or in this case, the husband. I figured that if Craig is doing a fatherhood blog, I could do a motherhood one. Or rather, at this stage in the proceedings, a "wow, I'm pregnant, it hasn't really sunk in even though we've known for a couple of weeks now" blog.
I'm about 7 1/2 weeks right now, on day 53, with 227 days to go until the due date of July 03, 2010, since I'm sure the baby will come RIGHT ON SCHEDULE. That's the way it works, right?
I've been feeling really good, on the whole. I haven't had bad morning sickness at all - I've tried to make sure my stomach never gets really empty, which I think helps during the day. I've had a few moments where I've felt queasy and thought that if it kept getting worse I would probably have to throw up, but it's always gotten better instead. Yay! I figure it's fair, since I've spent the last how many years unable to eat early breakfast, with the thought of food turning my stomach first thing in the morning.
We went to our family doctor a couple of weeks ago to confirm the pregnancy and get recommendations for an obstetrician, since our family doctor does not work in that area. We have our first appointment at Fairhaven Obstetrics on November 30th. We're interested in using their Birth Center instead of the hospital, so we'll be learning more about that option as well as doing all the normal first visit stuff.
Craig has been very sweet and supportive. Luckily, he hasn't had to deal with wild mood swings or anything like that yet. Here's hoping it stays that way.
